Eat yourself skinny with this award-winning chili! As you can see from the video below, filmed at a chili cook-off contest, this recipe was the first to be finished off and the only one to be completely cleaned out by the time the night was over. It’s a clear crowd favorite, even among “normal” eaters, who follow the Standard American Diet (SAD).
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. of ground beef or turkey
- 1 and 1/2 onion, diced
- 6 tbsp of garlic, minced
- 1 red and 1 green bell pepper, both diced
- 1 cup of carrots, finely diced
- 2 cups of celery, diced
- 2 jalapenos, minced
- (1) 28-ounce can of crushed or stewed tomatoes
- (1) 14-ounce can of diced tomatoes
- (1) 15-ounce can of tomato sauce
Spices
- 3 Tbsp. of chili powder
- 4 Tbsp. of oregano
- 4 Tbsp. of basil
- 4 Tbsp. of cumin
- 4 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp. cacao powder (optional, if you want a less sweet and darker taste)
- 1 Tbsp. of salt
- 1 Tbsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. of cayenne
Instructions:
Dump it all in a crockpot and cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring at least once, at some point, after the 4 hour mark. How easy is that?
